Women’s Voices

In the past cbm Canada has said that it will be a “strong voice for people with disabilities living in poverty”.  This statement – and more importantly – the thoughts behind it will change this year. I feel strongly that we cannot be a voice for anyone. We can help the voices of those with a disability be heard. We can link people to hear each other. We can open our own ears to hear people speak their own words. Sometimes we may have to translate people’s words. We will not be anyone else’s voice.

And here is a good example why. Click on this video and hear the beautiful voices of strong, loud, proud and passionate women in the world. They have a disability, but they certainly have their own voice!

  1. In my opinion women should have a loud voice in todays world. In many countries they are the breadwinners, carry the brunt of the workload in their family, and raise their children.. They abhore violence and war . But they have no voice, especially when they are disabled . Thanks for the blog!
