Tom Little receives Presidential Medal of Freedom today
Today United States President Obama will honour Tom Little with the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the highest honour given by the US to civilians. Many of you may remember Tom. Tom and his wife Libby worked for many years in Afghanistan and led the medical teams into the valleys to deliver eye care to remote villages. He and his team were killed last August. Libby, due to medical reasons, was not on that team.
Tom gave his life doing what God called him to do.
Libby is going to be in Washington today to receive Tom’s medal. The list of other recipients is impressive, from former President George Bush, cellist Yo Yo Ma, sports star Bill Russell, to German Chancellor Merkel.
